One of the most poignant and heart wrenching of Irish movies on the subject of the civil war with Cillian Murhpy in the lead, the movie certainly stirs up all of the empathy that goes to the underdog in an epic struggle for freedon, justice and independence during the Irish civil war.

Its rural Cork in 1920, when brothers Damien and Teddy are tinkering around as members of the local guerrilla squad, Damien, in a cruel twist of fate, just as heis about to further his medical studies away from the hotbed of fervent nationalism his brother favours gets drawn back into the resistance and joins in the war against the hated Black & Tans

Set throughout west cork fro, Bandon to Timoleague and around, you can still hear the wind that shook the barley by staying nearby at River Lee Hotel or Imperial Hotel.
