Druids Glen was the Home of the Irish Open for 4 years from 1996 -'99.
In 1999 record Irish Open crowds witnessed teenager Sergio Garcia from Spain produce a final round 64 to capture his first professional victory.
Druids Glen hosted the Seve Trophy in 2002. This event saw the leading Tour Professionals of Great Britain & Ireland play their counterparts from Continental Europe.
In 2000/'01 Druids Glen was honoured to receive the award of European Golf Course of the Year, from the International Association of Golf Tour Operators
